The
Apple Basket is a locally owned and operated gift, antique,
and fine jewelry shop located in Washington DC's Southern Maryland county
of St. Marys in the city of Mechanicsville. It is conveniently
located just a half block off of Route 235, Three Notch Road, and just
over 2 miles south of the Route 5, Point Lookout road intersection.
About Us
The Apple Basket owners, Charlene and Nick Tsirigotis, have been in
business 24 years. Charlene is a self-taught floral designer and
antique dealer who runs this delightful emporium full of general store
memorabilia of yesteryear and antiques. The store originally was located
in Solomons and now is in Mechanicsville, in a two-story, original 1800's
era general store. The Apple Basket has evolved into a mix of the old
and new, with additions like Trollbeads jewelry, Crocs footwear, Le
Creuset cookware, Jim Shore collectibles, Yankee candles, April Cornell
quilted handbags, and many other gifts and collectibles.
The
Apple Basket has 13 uniquely themed rooms with giftwares and home décor
items mixed in with or displayed on the antiques. Charlene makes
all the charming dried and silk floral arrangements throughout the store.
Food lovers can pick up a variety of gourmet items,
while those of you who love sweets can fill your mouth with a variety
of old-fashioned candy sold in authentic jars from the original general
store. It currently has 6000 square feet of space to fulfill your
entire gift, antique and jewelry needs and desires. So come
